BlueSenz WS (WinchSenz)
WinchSenz is a sensor device that is locked directly onto the WinchTag which is mounted on the winch; it counts the number of revolutions that a reel or net drum makes (clockwise or anti-clockwise direction). This allows the FMC receiving the data to determine whether a fishing net is being deployed or hauled from the the sea (i.e. the vessel is fishing) and it also measures the length of the net deployed. WinchSenz removes the guesswork for FMCs (Fisheries monitoring centres). FMCs no longer have to rely just on VMS tracking data to determine whether a vessel is fishing. Location specific, time-stamped, precise winch activation data allows an FMC to see when a net was deployed and hauled from the sea providing an unprecedented view of the fishing effort occurring on the sea.
INCREASE FISHERMEN ACCOUNTABILITY
WinchSenz provides irrefutable evidence of when and where a winch was active:
revolutions and rotation direction. This allows an FMC to impose penalties on
unscrupulous fishermen if they fish in prohibited areas.
REMOVE FMC GUESSWORK
FMCs are now able to see precisely when and where a vessel deployed their net into the water: length of net deployed and length of time it was deployed for. FMC no longer have to estimate when they believed a vessel was fishing.
PROVIDES FMC SPECIFIC GEAR INFO
FMCs are able to see which gear was used and where. WinchSenz allows remote
monitoring of the specific equipment onboard a vessel ensuring that only authorized gear is used.
ALWAYS ON: CONTINUOUS REPORTING
WinchSenz continually monitors the status of a winch and alerts the FMC if a
winch is active. This ensures that no fishing activity goes unseen. If your fishermen are working then so is WinchSenz!
